Post a job

Plumbing problems come in many shapes and sizes. There’s the leaky tap that while isn’t urgent you’ll want to fix at some point and then there are problems with boilers or water leaks that need seeing to right away. It’s always best to enlist professional help when it comes to plumbing as DIY efforts can turn into disasters with one wrong move.

What services do plumbers provide?

  • Removing blockages in drainage
  • Detecting and repairing leaks in water and gas systems
  • Repairing bathrooms, radiators, appliances, taps and boilers
  • Repairing burst water pipes
  • Replacing old plumbing
  • Removing radiators
How Hoppy helps you choose a plumber with Rated People

  1. Select ‘plumber’ from the list of trades and tell Hoppy all about your job by completing a short form.
  2. Then post your job - you'll get a confirmation email from Hoppy and our partner Rated People that your job has been posted, with a link to where you can manage it.
  3. Now sit back and wait to hear from up to 3 trusted tradespeople about your job - be sure to check out their profiles, where you’ll find examples of previous work and genuine reviews.
  4. Then simply choose the right person for your job!
What questions should you ask a plumber?

  • How long have you been trading?
  • What qualifications do you have?
  • Have you carried out similar jobs before?
  • Will you supply all the materials?
  • Reasons the work could be delayed?
  • Will you tidy up each day?
What qualifications should a plumber have?

If your plumber is carrying out gas work, then they must be Gas Safe registered. They’ll carry a personal ID card which you can ask to see, so check their licence number and expiry date. Rated People also check this, ensuring that only Gas Safe registered plumbers can access these jobs. Most plumbers carrying out domestic work should have an NVQ level 2 qualification, so look out for it.
