Local Electricians

Post a job

If you need help with the maintenance or installation of electrical systems in your home, then you’ll need to enlist the services of an electrician. DIYing electrical problems should never be attempted by anyone unqualified to deal with the issues, as the consequences could be far more costly than home repairs. Always seek out professional assistance to ensure that all jobs are completed safely and to a high standard.

What services do electricians provide?
  • Installing new lights
  • Fitting electric showers
  • Sorting out air conditioning
  • Fixing power issues
  • Installing electric underfloor heating systems
  • PAT testing

How do I find an electrician?

Hoppy has partnered with Rated People to help you find local trusted electricians and get the job done in just 4 easy steps.

  1. Select ‘electrician’ from the list of trades and tell Hoppy all about your job by completing a short form.
  2. Then post your job - you'll get a confirmation email from Hoppy and our partner Rated People that your job has been posted, with a link to where you can manage it.
  3. Now sit back and wait to hear from up to 3 trusted tradespeople about your job - be sure to check out their profiles, where you’ll find examples of previous work and genuine reviews.
  4. Then simply choose the right person for your job!

What certifications does an electrician need?
  • Do you have a Part P qualification, and can I see the evidence of it?
  • Have you carried out similar jobs before?
  • Do you have public liability insurance, and what does it cover?
  • Will my home be liveable while you carry out the work?
  • Do you provide a guarantee for your work and how long does it last?
What qualifications should I look out for?

This will depend on the kind of work that you’re getting done. Electrician without a Part P qualification can carry out most replacement, repair, and maintenance jobs. However, you might want to look out for this qualification, which you can request to see evidence of when the job involves electrical installation; it is also a legal requirement.
