Design and screen:
Huawei have iterated and improved on their older P20 Pro model to create a stylish and distinctive design. The Huawei P30 Pro has double-sided curved glass which allows for a slim feeling profile that fits nicely in your hand. Huawei have stripped back the bezels surrounding the screen and reduced the notch at the top to the size of a teardrop to allow more space for their screen. With a 6.4" Full HD+ OLED screen, everything from the latest games, to movies and boxsets will look fantastic. It gives you a truly immersive experience so you can feel closer to the action than ever before.
The phone comes in three colours – Breathing Crystal, Aurora Blue and Black – all of which catch the eye. The gradient colours move as the phone moves with you and catches the light, so the P30 Pro looks stunning wherever you go.
Performance and processor:
Under the hood, you find out why the P30 Pro is such a beast. Inside the device, you will find a Kirin 980 AI processor, the world’s first 7nm mobile process chipset. When combined with its 8GB of RAM and expandable 128GB of memory, this little powerhouse packs a punch without burning up battery consumption.
The P30 Pro takes everything you can throw at it and comes back for more. From playing games, editing photos, watching the latest movies and television, or even using the most draining of applications, the P30 Pro makes it look easy.
The standout feature of the Huawei P30 Pro is its camera setup. It is the feature that Huawei is focusing its marketing around, and that is simply because of how good the camera setup is.
The quad-camera setup on the back comprised of the 40MP main sensor, 8MP telephoto camera, 20MP ultra-wide angle lens, and Time-of-flight (ToF) depth sensing camera.
These cameras give you the ability to take some of the best-in-class images, and the light fusion sensor ensures that you get the best low light shots with the highest quality colours and detail possible. Its super zoom feature means that even if you are far away from a subject, your shots are still high quality, free of blurs and wobbly edges.
The ToF camera enables you to take enhanced portrait mode shots, giving you a professional setup in the palm of your hand – the camera blurs the background and drags your subject into focus for a studio quality finish.
On the front, the 32MP camera takes fantastic portrait shots, more than enough for the biggest selfie fans.
Battery & Charging:
You might think that all the technology in the flagship phone will drain the battery before you get through the morning. However, you would be wrong as the Huawei P30 Pro has a 42000mAh battery which is bigger than any other phone offered by its rivals. This means you should be able to power through your day and still have battery left by bedtime, and if you’re a light user, you may even get two whole days from it.
The Huawei P30 Pro also comes with reverse wireless charging, which allows you to charge other Qi supported devices on the rear of the phone. Likewise, you can also charge the P30 Pro on a wireless pad, although it's not as fast as being plugged in. In the box, you will find a SuperCharge adapter which gives you up to 75% over breakfast.
